So two things drove me to install mods for World of Tanks:
- Not remembering where to shoot tanks and trying to penetrate US tank on aft turret.
- Seeing streamers have "last known position" on minimap.
On the first you could have cheaty skin replacement to highlight weakspots, but that feels too cheap. I knew that there was mod in Russian that gave small infobox and was happy to find it translated on EU forums. Thanks adaptare.
When you target any tank it shows small info window that has armor and weapon damage/penetration information... Now I just need to remember to look at those.

Second thing I knew was part of XVM.
I really hate XVM-stats for what it does to players and I am uncomfortable on some other parts of the core mod too. (For those who do not know: XVM-stats shows "skill" value and win% of players while in game and estimates match results based on those. This leads to players playing differently that they otherwise would have done. Also leads to bad manners towards those with bad "skill" value.)
Good thing that mod can be installed without stats component.
What this does on minimap is to show dot with tank name on place where enemy tank was last seen. Like the heavy trio in the middle road, they were actually more south when the screenshot was taken.
Also mod shows all tank names, 5 first letters of platoonmates names and max view range circle.
Base mod has lot of other good/bad things and I really recommend using the website configuration tool and possibly going through default config files.
As a reminder: DO NOT INSTALL ANY MOD THAT HAS EXECUTABLES (.exe) AND ALWAYS RUN A VIRUSSCAN BEFORE. Mods go to res_mods -folder, nowhere else!
Happy tank hunting!
